“If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.” (John 7:17 ESV)

Today's Encouragement
In John 7, Jesus is teaching in the temple and encounters conflict with the religious leaders who were present. Those present did not support his public ministry, but Jesus chose to continue to teach what God told Him. Like Jesus, we too have a choice everyday about how we will glorify God with our attitudes, behaviors, and our lives.

We can choose to smile or frown.

We can choose to give thanks or complain.

We can choose to forgive or hold a grudge.

We can choose to move forward or live in the past.

Making the choice to glorify God with our actions cannot be done within our own strength, but through the work of the Holy Spirit. When we choose to glorify God, there will be naysayers, those who ridicule, and people that won’t be for us. Despite the adversity that will come, make the decision to choose God’s way each day with your actions. Today, I encourage you to choose to do the will of God each day and lean on God’s Spirit for guidance. With each choice, seek God’s word and let God lead you.

Prayer
Dear God, thank You for Your Holy Spirit giving me the courage to choose to glorify You with my actions each day. At times when I fall short or face ridicule, thank You for Your grace that covers me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Reflection
What is one action that you will choose today to commit to glorifying God?
